Senior Accountant

2Pi-Jobs is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.
We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Senior Accountant with experience in the construction industry. This role will involve managing daily accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, overseeing accounts payable and receivable, performing reconciliations, and supporting compliance with statutory requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform all related accounting functions required to maintain the general ledger in compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Enter daily invoices, bills, journal entries, and accruals accurately and on time.
  • Ensure timely posting of expenses, subcontractor bills, and other financial transactions in the system.
  • Oversee fixed asset tracking and reconciliations, including monthly depreciation.
  • Process and validate all payment requests and ensure proper documentation.
  • Manage weekly check runs, follow up on payments, and ensure timely settlements.
  • Post purchase expenses, subcontractor expenses, and other company expenses into the accounting system.
  • Reconcile supplier and subcontractor accounts; identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Monitor receivables and follow up with clients/customers for outstanding payments.
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of cash balances.
  • Reconcile intercompany accounts and project-related financial transactions.
  • Coordinate month-end and year-end closing activities in collaboration with the Chief Accountant.
  • Prepare and maintain essential financial reports for internal use.
  • Ensure accuracy of financial documents and compliance with local regulations.
  • Support external auditors by preparing required schedules and documentation.
  • Ensure proper filing and record-keeping of accounting documents for audit readiness.
  • Review and analyze expenses to identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
  • Assist in controlling project-related costs in coordination with procurement and project teams.

Other Educational Qualification

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (professional certification preferred).

Skills

  • 5 - 7 years of experience in accounting, preferably within the construction industry. 
  • Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations. 
  • Hands-on experience with accounting systems (e.g., Tally, ERP, SAP). 
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization skills, and ability to meet deadlines. Good communication skills.
