Lead and guide the development and adaptation of the Programme (Core Competencies) strategies
Ensure the quality implementation of the Programme strategy and report on progresses
Manage performance, support and develop the Programme Unit
Ensure that appropriate support is extended to the Area Office programme teams
Support the Country Director in developing and implementing the fundraising strategy
Represent NRC in relevant coordination fora and with donors
Lead the development of quality proposals, reporting, and other documents for donors’ engagement
Support the management of Whole-of-Syria grants
Facilitate the development of organisational learning from programme implementation.
Collaborate with the Advocacy and Policy Manager to ensure continuous exchange of information and full understanding of programme priorities.
Foster strategic partnerships with stakeholders to increase principled, humanitarian access.
Facilitate exchanges with other NRC Country Offices in the region to build programme synergies.

Minimum 5 years’ experience from a senior management position in a humanitarian/ recovery context
Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
Core competency expertise
Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
Fluency in English, both written and verbal
Knowledge of the context in Syria
Knowledge of Arabic is an added value
Experience with NRC’s range of Core Competencies
