Objective was to create bridge between industry and academia
The Office of Career Services and Alumni Relations (OCSAR) of Brac University organized an In-house Career Fair 2022 on Tuesday, sponsored by Therap (BD) Ltd and co-sponsored by Brac EPL Stock Brokerage Ltd.
The Career Fair was held in the cafeteria-auditorium area of the university where the students and alumni participated, read a press release.
The event was chaired by Brac University Registrar Dr David Dowland. Major General (retd) M Shamim Chowdhury, director of HR and Vital Assets, Therap (BD) Ltd, and Salim Afzal Shawon, CFA, head of research, Brac EPL
Stock Brokerage Ltd, were the special guests at the event.
A Brac University alumni, Habib Ghazi, talent and employer branding expert at Grameenphone Ltd, spoke at the event to motivate the students and alumni in attendance.
Apart from the sponsor, Therap (BD) Ltd, and the co-sponsor, Brac EPL Stock Brokerage Ltd, more than 20 other renowned organizations from different industries like bKash, Upay, Nagad, Banglalink, Pathao, Lanka Bangla Finance Ltd, Wunderman Thompson Bangladesh, Arla Foods Bangladesh Ltd, Apex Footwear Ltd, Renata Ltd, Brac, Rangs Group, Runner Group, Ezzy Group, United Nations World Food Programme, Singer Bangladesh, Augmedix, The ACME Laboratories Ltd also participated in the event.
PepsiCo and Nescafe were the beverage partners of the event while Sepnil was the hygiene partner to ensure Covid-19 safety protocols. Dhaka Tribune, The Daily Ittefaq and Somoy tv were the media partners.
The core objectives of the Career Fair were to connect students and alumni to potential employers by creating a bridge between industry and academia, and to provide
a platform for BracU students and alumni to explore job prospects in a wide range of professional areas.
