Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer (Civil) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the civil aspects of construction projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and coordinate site activities, including planning, organizing, and supervising construction work
Conduct site surveys and inspections to monitor progress and identify potential issues
Collaborate with other engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure effective project delivery
Develop and implement quality control processes to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
Prepare and submit reports, including site reports, progress reports, and defect reports
Manage and coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and services
Identify and mitigate potential risks and hazards on site, ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel
Develop and manage project budgets, including forecasting and tracking expenses
Collaborate with the project manager to develop and implement project plans, including schedules and resource allocation
 

Job Responsibilities

  • Project Planning and Execution: Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of civil construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Site Supervision: Supervise and monitor the construction site activities, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Design and Development: Participate in the development of project designs, drawings, and specifications, collaborating with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure that construction work meets the required standards and specifications.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks and hazards on site, ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Communication and Reporting: Prepare and submit regular progress reports, including site activities, progress, and any issues or concerns.
  • Team Management: Supervise and coordinate the activities of site staff, including laborers, technicians, and other engineers.
  • Material Management: Source, procure, and manage materials, equipment, and services required for the project.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure that all site activities are carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of site activities, progress, and issues, including photographs, reports, and other documentation.
  • Client Relations: Liaise with clients, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure that their requirements are met and that any issues are resolved promptly.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve technical problems and issues that arise during construction.

Other Educational Qualification

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering: A 3-year diploma course that provides foundational knowledge in civil engineering principles, practices, and design.

    • Proven track record of managing and executing site engineering projects.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in civil engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and MS Office.
    • Familiarity with construction management software and tools (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid).
    • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, including surveying, drainage, and structural systems.
  • Communication and Project Management:
    • Excellent communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively with contractors, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders.
    • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage schedules, and meet deadlines.
  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills:

    • Physical ability to visit construction sites, which may require walking, climbing, and lifting.
  • Regulatory and Safety Compliance:
    • Familiarity with relevant local, state, and federal regulations and codes.
    • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
    • Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.

Additional Salary Info

  • Average Salary Range: $60,000 - $90,000 per year
  • Starting Salary (0-2 years of experience): $50,000 - $65,000 per year
  • Mid-level Salary (2-5 years of experience): $65,000 - $80,000 per year
  • Senior Salary (5-10 years of experience): $80,000 - $110,000 per year
  • Lead/Manager Salary (10+ years of experience): $110,000 - $140,000 per year
