Job Responsibilities
Actively contribute to positioning NRC Germany as a leading agency for sound humanitarian policy advice through delivery of timely, specific, and evidence-based advocacy and policy products.
Coordinate NRC Germany advocacy activities with Berlin based Institutional Partnership Advisers (IPAs), the German Fundraising and communication adviser, Policy and Advocacy Section, Regional- and Country offices and other Rep Offices.
Develop a strategy for engagement with German parliamentarians to promote NRC global advocacy priorities especially on the funding the gap focusing on the 2026 national budget process.
Represent NRC Germany in briefings to relevant parliamentarians and ministry stakeholders and manage the drafting of talking points and briefing notes.
Actively network with other organisations and contribute to the development of strategic partnerships and collaboration with relevant stakeholders to support NRC advocacy objectives.
Encourage and contribute to advocacy activities within the German NGO networks as an active member.
Develop public advocacy messaging and materials also relevant for German media
Act as focal point for other NRC Representation Offices to connect on joint advocacy activities influencing non-German stakeholders such as the EU and UN agencies.

Educational Qualification
Masters degree in any discipline
Other Educational Qualification
Master’s degree in a relevant topic such a law, human rights, political science or other relevant area of studies.
Skills
A minimum of three years of documented relevant experience within the humanitarian sector, including field experience.
Demonstrated experience in implementing humanitarian advocacy strategies that impact on decision makers.
Previous experience in representing NGO’s, donors, or UN agencies in formal settings.
Demonstrated experience in developing sound and actionable policy recommendations tailored to different interlocutors. Ability to present arguments in a structured, compelling, and articulated manner.
Demonstrate knowledge and experience with parliamentarian decision-making procedures
Previous experience in drafting speeches, talking points, and position papers
Proven research and analytical skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills in German and English, along with the legal right to live and work in Germany.
Sound understanding of humanitarian architecture.
Sound understanding of priorities and interests of the so-called non-traditional member states, including through proven successful previous engagement with diplomatic missions at capital level.
