Job Responsibilities

• Gather and systematize information on forest management and restoration actions, projects, and programs of the REDESER Project and other partners in the project regions.
• Analyze information on forest management and restoration initiatives in the project area, assessing their impact on the goals and expected outcomes of the REDESER Project.
• Identify potential synergistic actions related to Component 3.
• Support the technical team in the preparation of the final project document within the scope of Component 3.
• Support the development of contents, facilitation of training workshops, and production of audiovisual materials for the capacity building of technicians from OEMAs and INCRAs in the Caatinga Biome regarding the implementation of CONAMA Resolution No. 507/2024, related to sustainable forest management plans for timber purposes in the Caatinga.
• Liaison with OCC will be maintained, either directly or through an agreed focal point/coordinator, to ensure compliance with OCC standards, aligned messaging, and appropriate review and clearance processes.

Other Educational Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree in Forestry Engineering or related fields.
• At least 8 years of experience in projects/activities related to forest management and landscape restoration in the Caatinga biome.
• Working knowledge (level C) of English and Portuguese.
• National of Brazil or resident of the country with valid work permit.

Skills


• Availability for fieldwork and travel.
• Experience in planning and coordination/execution of training processes in the areas related to this Call for Expressions of Interest.
• Experience in environmental projects and integrated natural resource management.
• Work experience in the Brazilian Northeast, especially in the Caatinga Biome.
• Experience in international cooperation projects.
• Experience in producing educational materials.
• Knowledge of the legal and regulatory frameworks applicable to forest management in the Caatinga, especially CONAMA Resolution No. 507/2024.
• Knowledge of Spanish would be an asset.
